Four (4) Ways to Clean With Butter

Some paleo diets permit the use of butter, but honestly The Beau and I tend to avoid butter altogether, opting for coconut oil or olive oil instead. Plus, as a huge advocate for the plant-based lifestyle, there is no butter on my daily menu! I do use butter when I bake the occasional cake or baked good (I’m human after all!), but otherwise the butter in my refrigerator sits untouched. That is, until I discovered some amazing tricks for cleaning with butter.
De-grease everything:

Peanut butter in your hair? Glue on your hands? Tree sap on your car? Simply run butter over the surface, or through your hair, then was as normal with soap and water. Stickiness is gone!

De-squeak anything:

The door to our nursery was quite squeaky for a while. This didn’t bother me, but did occasionally wake the baby when tiptoeing into her room to admire her super chubby cheeks. Rather than reach for WD40, I rubbed a bit of butter on the door hinge and poof–squeak no more!
Restore cast iron:

A little butter can go a long way, especially in helping revitalize your grandmother’s favorite hand-me-down cast iron skillet. Simply rub a little butter on a clean cotton cloth and rub. Your skillet will look good as new.
Shine leather:

Add a little shine to your worn down-looking leather goods. Simply rub a dab of butter with a clean cloth all over your leather goods for a brand-new look and feel.
