When my son moved to canned formula (in true hoarder fashion) I was quite excited.
What to do with all those empty cans??!
My collection was building up, then one day a light bulb idea.. planters!
And I had just picked up some pretty, pretty succulents - perfection!
To read more visit my blog but I will give you the quickie version :)
Hoarded cans, washed and ready to shine!
I already had these spray paint cans in the garage, you never know when you'll need to spray!
Get to work!

Light strokes, allow time to dry between coats.

There is no right or wrong, spray the cans until you are pleased with the colour!

The gold took very well and looked fab - if I do say so myself ;)

The white took a few more coats but turned out great as well.
Let paint dry then go rock collecting!

Fill the bottom of your cans with enough rocks to allow for drainage.
Fill with flowers of your choosing!

I had these beauties on hand.
Sit back and enjoy your basically free DIY!
Because I had the cans and paint on hand the only real cost of this project for me, was $7 per succulent! (between you and I, I had already purchased those as well I was just waiting for the perfect planter to come along!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Until the next DIY... XO

I have done similar. Holds not needed because you add diluted feed to your soil and do not water the succulants but only spray them , so drainage needed. Always a winner in any colour.
