DIY Baby Proof Fireplace!

We have a doubled sided fireplace and a toddler! We bought the foam that is suppose to stick to the edge but our toddler had more fun taking it off every time we put it back! I came up with a solution. (FYI we do NOT use our fireplace)
Here's the hard surface we wanted to cover.
We had three pieces built to cover the bricks.
Each of the three pieces connect. This makes it easy to come off and on.
Here's the material I gathered. Material that matched our home decor, hot glue gun, foam, the foam edge I found in the first place, scissors and staple gun.
First, I hot glued the edge piece on.
I cut the foam to cover the rest. Make sure to cut around the fasteners.
It's covered and ready. Unscrew and remove one side of the fasteners.
Cut and iron your material, then lay it out. Place the wood down, close to one edge.
Starting in the middle, pull the material and staple.
Staple all the way down each end.
Repeat on the other side.
Fold the ends over like you're wrapping a present.
Screw the fastener back on. Only remove one side at a time so you can line them up perfectly.
Put them all together and she's done! Check out my BLOG for more DIY and home decor!

Unfortunately, our fireplace is right between our kitchen and living room. An area we pass through multiple times a day. If she was running and fell, I would rather her hit her head on this than the hard brick. Thanks for reading!
