Easy
just weld up or bolt together a frame and add wood ( we used a old leaf from a table )
this is what the frame looks like before the wooden seat
this is what the frame looks like ours is welded, but can be bolted together
the seat is 12 1/2 inches wide all parts of the frame are made out of the old bed rails
the headboard you use will determine how wide you seat is ours is 39 1/2 inches
the height of the legs are 15 1/2 inches
the flanges on the bed rails make it easy to attach to the headboard ( bed rail is easy to cut with a hacksaw )
we used a old table leaf for the seat ,just sanded it down and varnished

  • This is very inspiring!Nicely explained. Very successful! One of my summer projects is to create a visiting area in my back yard. I have a cast iron park bench. I plan to paint bench metal sides in a cheerful color. And sand and seal the wood. I have some other wrought iron pieces to create a visiting garden area that will be painted in coordinating colors.Maybe some planters etc
