My first attempt at chalk paint

Mary Insana
by Mary Insana
I scored a coffee table, a marble top end table and a round end table with doors and underneath storage all for only $25.00 ! I wanted something to try my hand at chalk paint. I mixed homemade chalk paint and here is the coffee table with the first coat. I'm debating whether to paint the top or do a stain. I like the contrast so far so I may just stain the top. The coffee table has great details for the shabby chic look I'm going for. All the items were in great shape and could be used as I bought them .

I LOVE that!! Best because you saved the lovely wood grain on top. My mother's house is filled with this kind of furniture (very 70's), and I don't want to get rid of it, as they are quality made pieces,, but, I just don't like them. Lots of her stuff also has gold leaf on it (YUK.) This gives me some ideas!!!

Mary this table is beautiful, great job and kudos to you for finding such great bargain pieces. I have a very similar coffee table which is waiting in line for a makeover, it's so addictive painting furnit ure once you start you simply can't stop. So I'm looking forward to seeing you next projects. :-( Thank you for sharing.
