Vintage Typewriter Table Makeover

I love the functionality and little "edge" that industrial style adds to a room, so I rarely pass up a good find. I discovered this vintage typewriter table at a flea market and couldn't resist the opportunity to give it a new life.
This beauty required some scrubbing with a wire brush to remove the rusty spots.
A couple of coats of Rustoleum's Weathered Steel spray paint gave it a new surface while maintaining an vintage, weathered look.
For fun, I added some typography with vinyl letters in my favorite aqua. This table will live out the rest of her days as my sewing maching cart.

I have one similar. It has wheels and the top is plywood which needs to be replaced. Wish it was entirely metal like yours. Looks nice and cute message: sew pretty (which it is).

These are the BEST! My hubby made over a one winged typewriter stand for my petite sewing room. After sanding, I made sure to give it a fresh coat of spray paint in a fun color 🎨

The main place for the typewriter was just a frame. To create a solid flat surface, he installed a piece of melamine. It was secured from the underside with short screws, fed through the slots of the frame that would have held the typewriter. It's the perfect size for my serger.

Then on the folding wing, I placed a square wool ironing mat and I use a mini iron for pressing quilt blocks as they are being assembled.

On the bottom frame above the casters, he cut a scrap piece of diamond plate metal to go from side to side and my small portable sewing machine sits here under its soft canvas cover.

I wish everyone good luck finding their own at a used office furniture or thrift store!
