Faux Card Catalog Makeover

Card catalogs have been making a major come back lately but they come with a price. An expensive one. Especially the antique ones. And I wasn't about to pay, so I created my own from a $20 thrift store find!
It was refreshing to work with a piece that was in great shape and didn't need any fixing up. Yay for no sanding or mystery goo removal.

I thought about staining the whole thing but wanted some contrast so decided to go with a paint/stain combo. I love the way it turned out!
Even though it was a newer piece, once I stained it, some scratches and imperfections came through on the wood. I love how these added a little character :)
