A Pool Deck Build

After a couple of summers of navigating the ladder that came with the pool, and falling off more then once, we decided it was time to build a pool deck. The deck you see to the right was put in after we built our koi pond but doesn't allow access to the pool.
The first step was to build the frame and put the post in
Then we built the stairs. We like the idea of being able to enter the deck from either side.
And since I believe that all structure should be "landscaped" I did that with simple brick trim and rock.
My husband and I go fishing every year in Marathon, FL. Our favorite place to go out of is called Sea Dog Charters. We decided to give our deck a "boat dock" feel.
Some loungers, chairs and other "boat" items
I loved the paddle and the glass balls
Found this sign and had to have it and the fish net
I have a love of fairy gardens so I put a little sea side one on this side of the deck
And of course we had to have our "Sea Man"
Set up a relaxing sitting area
Now all that is left is to enjoy the deck :-)
A view from above. The pelican and light to the far left are solar.
Suggested materials:

  • Boat Rope, Paddle and other marine items   (Marine Trading Post, Old Time Pottery)

Your pool deck and pool area is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. We always had a nice above ground pool and deck area when we lived in Southern California. I think above ground pools are so practical and can be dressed up to look beautiful like yours. Nice job.

This is a quaint little area and I like it. The enclosure is private and homey. I like the way you added the beachy decorations. Cool beans. An idea for nighttime would be to add a couple Light houses. They would really add.....thanks for sharing.
