$150 Before/After Bathroom Makeover
With a very small budget, I set out to makeover my bathroom. We'd been living with a bathroom that I hated so I knew that whatever I did, it would be better. You have to see this $150 before/after!
Before I can really show you the after photos, let's take a look at a few before pictures. We had this gross shower enclosure with glass that never looked clean.
The entrance to the bathroom is small. A few years ago, we took off the door so that you could actually fit inside the bathroom with the door open and get in the shower. But, since the door had been off, we still had the door jam.
The vanity was painted shortly after we moved in but I never put the knobs back on. The towel rack would fall off the wall every other week or so. The bathroom walls may look white but really, they were a dingy off-white. So, as you can see... the bathroom needed some love.
Last year, I made over the dark painted vanity above and did a fresh new look on the whole little nook area for just $87! See the $87 before and after bathroom makeover here! So, it was a natural step to makeover the adjoining bathroom this year.
I started off taking off the door jam and the we were left with quite a bit of drywall work to do.
Next, I decided to take off the shower door set and just hang a curtain. I painted all the walls and trim.
By the way, I documented this whole process on my YouTube channel if you want to see the how the month went by with projects in a video form! Make sure to follow my channel for the next challenge ... it's going to be a good one!
After painting the walls, I painted the vanity dark, hung a new mirror and make another DIY light. Overall, the space looks so much better than how it looked before. I no longer dread going in there, which is always a good thing.
This project inspired me to do more with this bathroom though, so during the next month or so, I'm going to be tweaking the vanity and adding some privacy to the window. You don't want to miss those updates because they are going to be affordable as well.
So, tell me... are you inspired to try a budget-friendly makeover at your house?
