Completely Transform Your Bathroom With Milk Paint

My small, windowless bathroom was in need of a makeover; it was dark and the space felt heavy and small. I am always up for a challenge so committed to redoing the entire space for under $100.

The cabinets and counter were the biggest change and I was able to update them all with Milk Paint! I started by giving it all a thorough cleaning with soap and water and then a light sanded the cabinets and counter with some gritty sandpaper.

I used Ultra grip on the cabinets and counter to make sure the Milk Paint adhered well and had a nice smooth look. You can read more about the cabinet painting here...

The cabinets were painted with one colour and then a wash of a lighter colour was applied overtop. They were sealed with wax when fully dried to protect them.

Even the stained counter was easy to refinish with Milk Paint. It was done in the same way with Ultra Grip first and then Milk Paint. The only difference to the counter than the cabinets was that it was finished off with several layers of a water based top coat (Tough Coat). The top coat keeps the paint sealed and moisture resistant.

The transformation of this space with just a couple of bags of Milk Paint was incredible. The small room feels completely different and so much lighter and bigger now.
