How do I remove a step up to my Whirlpool bathtub?
I want to remove the step around my bath tub.
I would remove the surround - mainly to see if there is any mold behind them and you would have to do this if you were to tile - which I would do to update the bathroom.
Once you remove you can put a new surround up in it's place. If you don't want to go that route, you can put up tile board which comes in 4x8 sheets and is hung like paneling. Another way to go, and the one I would recommend, is to put cement board up and then tile the wall. You can get a white square tile that is self-spacing. It's great for a first time tile job. The only difficult part is cutting. We have an inexpensive tile saw that does a great job.
Replace it with green board it’s waterproof then you could buy another souround for the shower at Home Depot
