My small master bath needs some help !

Question

I live in a home from the 70's... I like it for the most part but I have been renovating and changing as I go... it still has good bones... I have a small master bathroom that has pale green tile on the lower walls and floor... which I like... There is a trim of tile around the top in a maroon glass color tile which I also like... and a trim tile that goes all the way around that is a smaller thin strip with some pink, maroon and green color... which I like... the problem is someone before me has papered the upper wall with a pink wallpaper which I guess they were trying to pickup the pink in the small trim tile... and I am not crazy about this... there is a shower stall that has the same tile on the walls and floor.... but the upper wall is painted white... don't like... I am thinking of painting over the wallpaper and painting the ceiling and upper wall in the shower all the same color... all the wood trim is white also which I don't care for including the vaniety... thought of painting the vaniety a dark wood color ... the countertop is a faux marble with shades of tan and brown... there is a build in linen closet that is white also... the master bedroom is kind of a sea green... with white triim and light brown doors... the floor is a hardwood floor painted a light brown close to the color of the light brown closet doors... any suggestions?

check this out.. took me just a few mins with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer tool. uploaded your photo and made your space updated! 
 Cleaned up the colors .. removed them actually :) Walls - crisp white. Let the tile (which is really pretty! this color has come around in trends again!) ... the vanity? I am not fond of painted browns as they look fake - so showing it to you with a painted dark pewter. Greys are the new neutral. And it helps tone down the yellows in the counter top. If you can swing it --- Id put in a clean white counter top, in the same material, it would cost you approx $300 for custom (off centered bowl, which I would appreciate too for counter space!).

Personally, I think the white is too -- white, I guess. I would play off the beautiful green tile with blue walls. Not pastel, not cobalt, but a nice, definite BLUE. Then you could have white towels. Wish I were more computer savvy like BeckySue.

considering the amount of color in the tile and the adjoining bedroom, my eye sees the white paint as relief.. allowing the colors, design to breathe some.

@Roberta Galipeau Martin it may be a simple as coordinating your paint colours in the master bath and bedroom. I would probably tend to go towards more neutal colours or a pale avacodo green that way there is less fight with the green tiles yet neutalize it at the same time. I completely agree @Gail Salminen I kept meaning to mention the bedroom color, wondering if it was blue or a blue green and forgot each time.

@Z I couldn't tell if it was a blue or a green colour, but regardless the bathroom is pink and sink appears to be beige. So coordinating the colours would go a long way to minimize the various colours but still coordinate them.

@Gail Salminen I thought the sink was green, but agree that it would help if the two rooms coordinated. I liked the color you found for the master bedroom walls. It could work on the bathroom walls and for the vanity too.

Becky, the color in the master bedroom won't work in the bathroom... it is a blue/green color and would clash with the green tile color... I think I will go with a very light green/white base color for the walls. The sinktop is a beige color with a hint of green. I think a light green on the walls and darker green on the vaniety as Becky Blair mentioned would look the best. That feels like the most soothing to look at... I may paint the master bedroom a different shade of green later that more coordinates with the bath... but first I am making changes in the bathroom since the pink walls are really not what I don't like and see how that works out before making any changes in the bedroom. Also I forgot to mention there is white woodwork trim in the bath like the rest of the house and white walls would be way too much white... there is also a linen closet in the bath that is white. I am first going to address the walls and ceiling and shower walls and vaniety to see what else I need to change. Thanks for all your suggestions.

@Roberta Galipeau Martin I think what @Z  was suggesting is to find a colour that was congruent with the green tiles and carry it into the master bedroom. Best to start with the bathroom then carry it into the bedroom, can change the depth of the colour so long as it is in the same colour pallet as the bathroom.

I am pleased with how it turned out... and it looks good with the color the master bedroom is also.... the red tile trim and the pink and red ribbon trim tile made it possible to leave the pink curtain and artwork in pink frames... which have a lot of pink and green in them with help tie it all together. What do all you think? I appreciate all your imput.

I am thinking of now tackling the main bathroom but only changing the white vaniety to a darker shade of beige to match the tiles in that bath.
