Ikea Wood Hangers Transformed into Shabby Chic French Hangers

Transform plain IKEA hangers into shabby chic French hangers!

I needed a few hangers in the guest bedroom so I decided to make over a few plain wooden IKEA hangers.

These hangers started off like this.

I painted them in Old White from ASCP and the bar is painted in Rose Chrome (a metallic pink) from Martha Stewart. I wanted the hangers to have a french feel without trying too hard so I decided on crowns.

These are five different vintage crowns that I got from my favorite place, THE GRAPHICS FAIRY. I think the crowns add the perfect french touch. After painting them, I added the graphics, sanded them to make them nice and smooth and then sealed them with a coat of wax.

Hi, I love anything French. These are gorgeous. Does the wax you applied stain your clothing?

They are lovely but the wooden hangers take up a TON of space in a closet. If you are like most people space is a very valuable commodity.
