This gorgeous, navy dresser was refurbished by Heidi from Lily Field Furniture with Peacoat!
This gorgeous dresser was so fun to transform! My client picked it and knew instantly that she wanted it painted navy. The problem is that there are so many great Country Chic colors in the navy family it’s hard to pick one! I sampled a bunch of different options for her on a sample board and she decided on Country Chic Paint limited edition color Peacoat.
To prep this dresser for paint I took of the metal keyhole covers and removed the hardware. After a very light sanding and cleaning I gave the dresser a coat of shellac sealer. I have learned over time wood that is knotty can tend to bleed through your finish. Personally I like to take the extra step up front just in case it might potentially be a bleed through piece.
I sprayed one coat of Peacoat and waited for it to dry before distressing. Since this paint was from the All-in-One line, no top coat was needed! However, since I know it will be getting daily use I went the extra step and sealed with top coat for added protection.
Isn’t this a beautiful color? I absolutely love the transformation and hope it inspires you to go blue!
