Not Your Grandmas Drexel! My Take on the #SeptFabFlippinContest

This Drexel was just begging me to bring it into the current century! ...ok Decade. But I had to to answer the call! So when I found out the was sponsored by General Finishes, I knew it was time. Time to see where General Finishes and the Geometric Design theme would take me with this gorgeous Bombay Chest!
Drexel Heritage Bombay-Meet the Amazing General Finishes :-)
Before Drexel and General Finishes meet..
My gorgeous Drexel Heritage Bombay Chest! Solid Structure-just needs to be prettied up and the finish was quite worn and chipped.
Enter General Finishes
General Finishes is an absolute favorite of mine. No matter the look I want to achieve, they have the DEPENDABLE products to get there!
I began mixing Patina Green and Coastal Blue.
...I was initially looking to get to Emerald,.. but I just didnt make it that far..
Then came Snow White for the Handles
I also had Snow White on hand so, I had to bump up the handles!
Special Delivery! Champagne Pearl Effects!
Unbelievable to me that General Finishes was so generous! They provided me with this awesome can of Champagne Pearl Effects!
Top: Champagne Pearl Bottom:+Snow White
..just a tad translucent for the look I wanted, so i mixed equal parts Snow White with it!
I used the mixture to highlight the details..
I used an artist brush to get into the tiny details and wiped away the excess
And for the geometric detail..
I used the glaze, custom blue mix and my snow white to fade in the geometric design stencil.
a little distress completed the look!
I sanded back to bring out the details just a little more! pretty...
What a fun contest! Have you checked out the ! Be sure to vote for your favorite Entry!
