It is Themed Furniture Makeover Day! Our theme for September is “layers”. When I started thinking about this project, my initial thought was to distress a piece of furniture with different colored paint showing through the final layer. Then, I came across a piece of furniture that I thought would be a lot of fun to do an ombre project with.
This dresser had just the right amount of drawers for me to try the ombre paint makeover. I wanted to use different shades of gray for this piece so I started with {afilink} "Ash" and "Picket Fence" from Fusion Mineral Paint to get the end effect.
I painted the shell of the dresser in "Ash" and then I mixed the paints together to get the different shades.
In the end, I added some black handles to the drawers.
This dresser has come a long way since I picked it up. I knew it had loads of potential and I have been wanting to find a piece to try an ombre makeover on. To see how I mixed the different shades for each drawer and other tips I learned throughout the process, make sure to head over to my blog! http://mycreativedays.porch.com/ombre-dresser-makeover/
