A Garage Sale Table Goes Coastal With OFMP

Garage sale season is upon us. Now is the time to be on the look out for those trash to treasure projects. I'll show you how I gave a tired garage sale table a coastal makeover with The Old Fashioned Milk Paint products.
This antique spool leg table that I picked up at a garage sale has good bones, and it was worthy of a makeover. The first thing I did was give it a good cleaning with warm vinegar water and an old rag.
Then I mixed up some Old Fashioned Milk Paint in Federal Blue. The historical color is just perfect for the age of the table. I added a little bonding agent to the milk paint to help it adhere to the table.
True milk paint is known for it's chipping properties, but there was no chipping after two coats of paint.
The spool legs reminded me of rope, so I decided to give the table a coastal look with the addition of a little Snow White OFMP. The dipped legs look fresh and modern.
The table was sealed with two coats of Hope's 100% Pure Tung Oil.
End tables this size also make great nightstands!
