Headboard Turned Organizer

by Confessions of a Serial DIYer

My son and I were out thrifting a couple of weekends ago and we came across a headboard for $5. I love repurposing headboards because there are so many things you can do with them. I turned this one into a place to hang your coats, your bags, your towels or whatever else you feel inspired to hang:
Here is the lovely before...just a simple twin headboard:
I cut off the legs with my table saw.
I used chalk paint for this with a little sanding and a coat of clear wax to seal.
Most of the hardware came from Hobby Lobby and was originally brown. A coat of Rustoleum's Blossom White gave them the look I wanted. I also sanded them a bit.
This snow is long gone, thank goodness, but it was pretty for a backdrop. :)
I don't have a mudroom for something like this, but that would be the ideal spot!
