Makeup Vanity GLAM Style!

My art is not for the faint hearted wood people. And I know you are out there wishing I didn’t glam up this piece. But teenagers need special pieces and this yard sale find wasn’t making anyone smile.
Those of you who follow my work know that I go over the top. And wow did I lose any trace of “mellow” on this babe. She looks good- and don’t get me wrong, it’s a perfectly ordinary and normal piece of wood. But that’s not me :)
I’m a nurse. I took an oath. So there wasn’t much time for painting. When I finally had some time to do something therapeutic, I chose glitter and happiness. We cried. We suffered. We bonded. And during recovery , we took up old hobbies that had been cast aside. I primed this piece with Miss Lillian’s primer after cleaning with no step prep from the same brand. I love how clean and prepped it feels after these steps.
This product stops bleeding and tannins. I knew I’d use light colors so this was a MUST
I’m just getting started here. But I know it can’t be mundane. It needs fun. Laughter. Some of the things that 2020 tried to take from many of us. Eventually this made a teenager squeal with delight
The pink paint is a combo of Miss Lillian’s raspberry sorbet and heartthrob. I wanted to come close to the art that Piece Prints customized for me. They are amazing. The top was done with an Epoxy Resin pour. I used multiple colors and textures of glitter for the effect. Every time I do a resin pour, I vow to never do it again.
But I wanted to show you the art!
Before the staging... the resin pour is leveling in the shots. It takes days to settle flat- but when it finally does, it’s like glass. You need a heat gun and hot sun and TIME! I stay nearby and chase every drip with a rag. It’s a mess but I love the look.
Thanks for reading through and feel free to ask me anything at all. There’s a video of the resin pour on my Instagram page and also on my Facebook. You can find me here on Hometalk, Etsy, Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.
stay Healthy and well.
