Our Adventurous Kitties "Help" With A Chalk Paint® Project!

2 Hours
This post is best enjoyed by clicking on my blog link to enjoy some kitty humor, however this is a pretty and easy Chalk Paint® project for the DIY or expert painter.
THE AFTER PHOTO. Bruce Lee, our huge rescue kitty poses beautifully on our finished cabinet project.
I used two coats of Florence Chalk Paint® on this little chest that I scooped up here in High Point, North Carolina at the Furniture Market. It had fallen off the dock, but I salvaged it for this project before anyone noticed!
As I was trying to paint the drawers on the kitchen bar the kitties tried to get into the action, plus get to their food bowls.
While they napped I added some silver gilding wax to the legs and drawer trim.
You can see the piece is still drying. After about an hour I wiped on a coat of Annie Sloan Soft Wax and buffed it to a soft sheen.
Then I stuff this little beauty full of Christmas goodies for easy access. I moved it to the hallway where Bruce Lee loved to stalk my husband while he read the paper. (Sadly Bruce went to kitty heaven this year.)
Lacey Jane was playing innocent during this painting adventure/fiasco. Who can resist those eyes. By the way, I did need to clean some fur since the Florence paint was SO enticing to all three kitties.
