Broken Futon Frame Turned Wall Shelf With a Chalkboard!

My daughter uses a futon with a metal frame as her bed, but the frame became bent, and it was killing her back, so we gave her a different one, and planned to take the old one to the landfill.
I hate taking anything to the landfill, if there's any possibility I can find a way to use it for something else, and the more I walked by that metal frame, the more I realized there HAD to be some great repurpose for it!
A salvaged board, 2 brackets, some paint and a piece from an old take measure, where all that was need to turn it into an amazing shelf - WITH a chalkboard!

I have a broken futon frame as well; last summer I put it in my flower beds, I screwed it onto the fence at an angle. That looked beautiful also. I wish I had a picture to show...
