Hanging Bed, Faux Brick Guest Room Remodel

We recently gave one of our old and tired bedrooms (with really badly stained hardwood floors ) the makeover of a lifetime. We incorporated some of the prettiest farmhouse trends into this room- faux brick sheeting and a German schmear, hanging bed we built ourselves, fireplace mantle, wall shelving, re-purposed candle holders turned hanging lighting and lots and lots of paint. Take a look at the transformation!
This is what the main entrance to bedroom looked like, behind that door is the tiny closet which we turned into built in shelving.
Here's the entrance, and you can see the tiny closet to the left.
And this is the entry to bathroom.
This is after we ripped up the hideous green carpet, this was the condition of the floors!! Yuck, time for a change.
And here is the completed room! The hanging bed we built ourselves, coffee bar from Facebook marketplace, rope for bed and lamps, hanging chair and both carpets from amazon, some throw pillows, candle holders turned light pendants, throw on bed & side tables all from TJ maxx, bedding from JC penny's.
Hanging ladder thing over the bar was a repurposed antique playpen we added twinkly lights and cotton to.
Baskets from TJ maxx. Lined the closet with brick paneling and german schmeared it to tie into the feature wall behind bed and fireplace surround.
Mantle was salvaged from an old home and taken apart to cut down to fit this wall. Frame built for tv using lumber from lowe's.
Hanging chair & candle holder repurposed into lamp.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Stunning room! Is the bed actually hanging? It looks like only the bottom is suspended with the ropes. If that is the case is there movement? One of my favorite things about the room is the saying on the floor in the doorway. Love that idea!
The threshold between the bathroom and bedroom, where did you get it? Or did you make it?
Did you make the shelving behind the bed? Looks so nice
