My closet was a hot mess, particularly the way I stored my shoes, so I spent $3 and worked for 2 hours and now things are approximately 700% better.
Updated to add: This is just the bottom corner of my closet, all the clothes are hanging right above this.

Using scrap wood, I made 2 ledges for my shoes and 3 built in shelves along the wasted space in the back of my closet.

This is similar to my daughters closet. Except where the shelves are located, she has a rod with several dresses. I love this idea and others on hometalk. For instance, I would be able to place a clothes basket or a tote for outgrown clothing under the dresses and "Use cabinet knobs to store shoes on the wall" for the back wall. Thank You for such wonderful ideas.
