While I made the initial cuts of the MDF board with a circular saw, this can actually be cut by hand once it's broken down into 4-inch strips. I love using my miter saw box with a Japanese saw. It cuts with ease.
While In this project I was experimenting with dado cuts and joinery you can totally accomplish this build with straight cuts. But if you have access to a router I say go for it. Be safe and expand your skills and go to that next level. I really like using dado joinery. It keeps the pieces snug and it makes the assembly process move quickly. With MDF you would assemble using wood glue. I do not recommend using screws beyond attaching the drawer pulls.
Because I am using glue to attach everything you will need to allow 24 hours for the glue to dry before decorating the jewelry box.
I used decorative paper from my local craft store to decorate the drawers. Mod Podge was my friend throughout the entire build.
I hope you enjoy it and make your very own dream jewelry dresser. Complete plans and cut list can be found at the link listed below.
