Very Easy DIY Hat Storage

With limited space and a growing collection of hats it was definitely time to pop on my refashionista thinking cap, sort through my stash and come up with a quick solution:
Whip up your own very easy DIY hat storage in minutes from bits you may already have lurking about the house!
Snag a hollow pipe, a long length of rope or thick yarn (the rope or yarn should be about double the size of your hollow pipe), a few more long lengths of rope to clip the hats to + a clothes pin for each of your hats.
(I reused the copper pipe from my diy clothing rack as it didn’t fit in my new bedroom after we moved house)
Feed the rope all the way through the pipe. You may want to attach a small weight to the end of the rope and drop it through or grab something thinner than the pipe to help push the rope through.
(I taped a small but heavy fridge magnet to the end of my rope and dropped it through)
Once through, decide how long you'd like your hanger area to be and knot then trim the ends to create the hanger.
Loop or tie a few long-ish pieces of rope along the length of the pipe.
(I used 4 but you may need more or fewer depending on the size of your hat collection)
Hang up the pipe then grab the clothes pins (or whatever clips you have on hand) and attach your hats to the hanging ropes.
So quick and easy and, best of all, organized and out of the way!
+ it makes groovy wall décor too!

I too am concerned about the marks a clothes pin would leave just as marks on clothes from hanging with clips. Awesome idea and love the copper pipe. I will try since I have many hats but might have to modify pins.
