I think that a good place to buy is Amazon. But first you need to decide which type and brand you need. I recommend to pay attention to latex mattresses. They have unique balance of soft comfort with proper support for your spine, excellent air circulation, superb body pressure distribution properties and many other benefits. Also it is important that latex mattresses are one of the most highly durable mattress types available nowadays. So it is good choice. You can find more info about this type on https://sleepissimple.com/best-latex-mattress-reviews/ there are top picks of the best latex mattress 2018.

That is a great question. I have worked at 4 furniture stores. Most really got you on the mattresses. I was going to manage for a large mattress store and not sure if I am allowed to say the name of it, but it rhymes with Creepys, Anyway they recently changed their name but not the method and they are the worst. While Amazon is a good source--it is not typically Amazon selling them-they are third parties and what if you aren't comfortable on it--how does it go back? Then what after that? What might be right for my comfort may not be yours-so you do have to try the mattress. The best place I have found is the last place I worked which is Bob's Discount furniture. The prices and quality are great. However, it will help you if you can possibly pick up on your own, as there is a delivery charge. They also have a comfort guarantee and a non prorated guarantee. Not sure if there is one located where you are?

It's better to go the nearest mattress store, getting advice from specialists, trying a real mattress before purchasing one.

If you're too busy, go online. However, you should check buying guides and reviews carefully. You also have to care about size, material, guarantee, returning policies ... etc.

This type of mattress is the best for for you if you want a mattress that will contour to your body and offer support and pressure relief where you need it the most. It is really comfortable. But remember that you must choose mattress with right density for you. Because it can dramatically change its properties..I found this top pick for you https://sleepmentor.net/best-memory-foam-mattress/. Good luck!

Hi Roslyn, there are many foam type mattresses available online as well as in stores like Walmart and Ikea, read all reviews to get a good idea of the quality and comfort. There is also bedding and mattress stores where you can lay on the mattresses to check comfort!

We shopped and shopped at various mattress stores, we did not want a foam mattress because there is a tendency to sink into them and this is a difficult the older we got. Mattress firm was the place where we chose a mattress. Several of the stores wanted to play games with their mattresses...such as the warranty would be voided if we did this, that, and the other thing. To void the warranty they said we had to purchase their mattress cover, another said we could not use box springs with their mattress, and then there was the warranty dependant on the price of the mattress.

I love my mattresses from Lull. We put them in our Airbnb's and our guests love them!

NOT JC Penney! Ordered online...You only have 48 hrs to return otherwise you have to pay 15% to exchange or 20% of purchase price to return even if its defective. We got a Sealy. It had a definite ridge straight down the middle. After only a couple weeks they wanted 15% to replace.

  • There are some really good online shops now, they will ship you the mattress, let you try it for an extended period and you can return it or swap it if you don't like. I know Purple Mattress is popular and also Lull.

I think a furniture store is best, and I usually buy during their sales on holidays, or the month of January. I did alot of reading online reviews before deciding, and I did some mattress testing at the stores and to see which models they carried, the firmness and longevity/warranty. I would prefer one you can flip, but it doesn't seem the manufacturers do that anymore.

You need to do your homework before you start to look.

    What size do you want?

Do you want memory foam or latex or something else?

Do you want the mattress to wick heat away from your body?

Do you want to use this on a adjustable base?

How firm do you want it?

Go to amazon.com and read the customer reviews from people that actually bought and have used these. I found a few brands that weren't amazon's pick that were rated much higher by customers.
