I've always wanted to make a coffee table out of a pallet and I finally got the opportunity, this past Fourth of July Weekend! It was really quick and simple! I used one pallet from work and the wood bed slats from my daughters old bed and 12 inch wood legs from Home Depot...

Here is the pallet and the wood slats from my daughters twin size bed...
This entire section circled, was cut off( after I decided I wanted the legs to be set back in further and not in the corners of the table top itself ( allowing for a table "overhang" (thanks Ginny for the idea).

After screwing in the brackets and legs into the bottom of the pallet base, I then nailed the bed slats in the opposite direction of the pallet slats ( sorry no pic of this step, it was REALLY hot this day
)...

The next part is the easiest.. simply decorate your new table. I used a stencil and white paint. After it was all dry, I sealed it with an exterior grade, clear polyurethane spray, so the paint can weather the outdoors beautifully ! These types of projects are great because there are simple and allow you to really be creative with the decorating... you can even choose different styles and heights of legs depending on the look you are going for! Have fun, hope I inspired!

Enjoyed the project?
