This Modern Outdoor Sofa is made from 2x4 and 1x4 cedar boards (pine could be substituted) and has a nice set back for a super comfy feel. The cushions are custom made just for the sofa. Layout your board and arrange them from darkest to lightest boards. Cedar is very prone to have different shades.
Label your boards so you'll have similar colored sides while leaving lighter pieces for the back or bottom.
Assemble the arm sides from 3 pieces of 2x4 cedar each.
Attach the arm sides with a base piece running between them.
Build the seat base from cedar 2x4's
Attach 1x4's for seat slats to hold the cushions.
Attach the seat base to the side assemblies.
Build the seat back and attach the slats.
Attach the seat back to the base.

WOW what a great job way to go

It is really nice BUT, you need many advanced power tools and the knowledge of woodwork. This should not be considered for Moderately skilled people. This takes experience in working with tools.
