Hi Laura. I'm Cindy. My husband and I want to make a headboard with a door. They have a great selection of new and used doors at Habitat for Humanity. Good prices too. We will turn the door on its side and attach a mantle down the entire length of the door. Put a 4 x 4 on both ends attached with L brackets. We intend to paint the entire thing a cream color. Attach it to the wall by screwing into studs in the wall. I hope some of my ideas help you. Good luck Laura.
