Cabinet hinges?? Are they hard to install?

I want to build shaker style cabinet doors for my kitchen and would like the hinges to be hidden. Are they hard to install and what are the hinges called?

You are referring to European hinges or concealed hinges. You can buy them at any home improvement store and they come with a template for installation. The drill bits, etc, will all be sold in the same area of the storeHelpful Reply -

The hinges are called concealed hinges. You can can find them at Menards, Home Depot, etc. Some are easier to install than others and require the proper tools. You need to make a trip and examine your options. Have fun in your kitchen!Helpful Reply -

You can purchase hinges to put on the back side of the cabinet doors at Home Depot; and they are just called cabinet hinges. You need to read on the packages to see how the door will fit on the cupboard; i.e. flush inside the opening, outside the opening, etc. I bought one set, brought it home and tried it on one door to make sure it was the type and size I needed then went back and using the empty package with the numbers on it, bought all the rest I needed. Remember, you'll need one package per each door to be installed. They're not hard to install as long as you have a helper and two battery operated drills - one to have a drill bit in it to drill the holes needed and the other one to screw the screws in place. This keeps you from having to continually change the drill bit and screwdriver bits in and out. Oh yes, always have a couple of extra battery packs for the drills that are fully charged so you can easily change one when they start to get weak.Helpful Reply -
