How to make a full size day bed with storage for a tiny house

Question

I am building a tiny house and for the time being to be able to keep the room less cluttered I have decided to find a way to make a full size day bed with storage and make it look like a couch by day and a bed by night.  I need help, I have looked but cant afford to buy the ones I've seen and most don't seem like they are very sturdy. I would like something that is easy to make.  And, I would like something I could either paint a shiny white or I am also looking at doing a white wash situation, help would be awesome.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for something to build, but we recently purchased the Ikea FRIHEEN Sofa bed with chaise ($599 + tax) and really love it. It is comfortable, has a good amount of storage on the chaise side. Your best bet would be to try pallets or get some 'cubbies' from WalMart or off of Craigslist to add storage.

In our tiny house / cabin i designed the dinning area after those I have seen in RV's.  I picked up some used dinnette cushions from an rv salvage yard and sized the space to use those.  We have a folding card table that fits nicely in that space.

By sliping in a piece of plywood and moving thr cushions it becomes a queen size bed.

Our cabin also has a loft area with a futon matress so we can easily sleep four.  In the last couple years however we have just left dining area set up ful time as a bed and use a smaller folding table in the more kitchen like area.

The space under part of the dining area houses the off grid electrical systems ( batteries, charge controller, inverter, breaker boxess etc.

well I have two people who's ideas Im going to draw from. Im going to check out the cubby idea and perhaps add the wheels like they did on the pallets I love that idea, will be so much easier to rearrange

I bought those bed risers which brought the bed up high enough to put plastic containers underneath and had room for other stored items on each side of bed.

Looks like you have enough room for some end tables that could have doors on them and have some storage ...nice if the tops of tables could be even with your couch. Add a few lamps for reading. Its amazing what you can find at Goodwill in furniture that can be painted or refinished if you are looking to save your dollars.

I d not like to travel in an rv but my best friend does. I have always been amazed at her rv everytime she gets another one. Those people plan for every cm. of space when they design them. Look online at the insides and H GTV Tiny Houses.
