My dad made one for me years ago using 1x12 lumber and cinder blocks! The boards can be sanded and painted, and the concrete can be stained (Behr makes a stain for concrete that comes in a wide variety of colors!). The arrangement and number of blocks would depend on the length of the TV stand you want... Lay the blocks flat for stability on the bottom, then on end for subsequent rows. This will be a neat project!! I hope this helps!
