Reclaimed Scrap Wood Sofa Table
I have lots of small pieces of reclaimed wood, many of them are less then perfect--the wood is splitting. While someone else might burn these, I love using them for patchwork pieces. When they are attached to another piece of wood, the splits don't matter anymore. Check out the pictures and my blog for a tutorial on building this table.
Otherwise "useless" scraps are transformed into a great sofa/entry table.
Start with a piece of plywood the size and shape you want.
Piece scrap wood on the board. Attach either with a nail gun or with screws from the underside. I used screws for this table.
Paint the wood the colors you like or just stain them!
Add an apron or edge with screws.
Legs screwed in from both sides are sturdy.
A brace and bottom shelf also helps to sturdy up this piece.
Wax finishes the look! I have a wax tutorial here: http://bec4-beyondthepicketfence.blogspot.com/2014/05/a-patchwork-coat-hook-and-wax-s.html
The bottom shelf adds great storage!
I also made a scrappy little side table: http://bec4-beyondthepicketfence.blogspot.com/2014/05/another-scrappy-table-side-version.html
