This mini DIY farmhouse ladder is the perfect thing to bring a little farmhouse style to any area of your home or your porch. A great DIY project for fall decorating!

I’ve seen quite a few tutorials floating around for how to make a DIY farmhouse ladder for your home very inexpensively (like for $10 or $20) and I just had to share this little project with you here today – because it was free! This mini ladder is a great quick-fix way to bring a little rustic farmhouse style to any area of your home and I loved Chris’ clever idea for where to get the wood for this super easy project...
To assemble the ladder, take your four pieces of recycled spacer wood and give them a good look. The pieces will probably be about 42″ because that’s how wide the skids are that the wood is shipped on. Use the two thinnest pieces as your two outside pieces, and cut down your two thickest pieces to create the steps of your ladder.

You want to use the thickest pieces as the steps because they’ll be the easiest to drive a nail into without splitting the wood. One nail on each side for each step will be just fine because this ladder is just for looks, it won’t be holding any weight. Keep it simple!
Here is how the ladder turned out... Super-cute, right?!

I’m using mine this fall on our new side porch to add a little extra interest in between some of our late summer plants and flowers. For some other cute ideas for other places to use this ladder, head on over to the original blog post! :)
