Giving Garden Pots New Life With Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
Stop! Don't throw away old garden pots because they have seen better days! I love using what I have! These pots are the lightweight resin material. This process would work on other pots as well. It has been over a month and they still look great! It really brightens the entrance to our screened porch! Don't have Annie Sloan Chalk Paint? You could use regular spray paint for outdoors as well.
What a difference!
This update can be completed in a couple of hours...including dry time!
BEFORE:: These pots are well over 10 years old. They are still in great shape with the exception of peeling and chipping in areas. Notice..I had already planted the pots when I decided to paint them.
I cleaned the pots really well. Let dry thoroughly. Sand away any chipping/peeling area. Paint with 2 coats of chalk paint in desired color.
Sand in desired areas to distress. Apply a sealer to protect finish outdoors. For more photos and details of colors and products used visit my blog, Our Southern Home. **Never use wax outdoors** I am not a chalk paint expert...just an avid user for over 2 years!

Your color is good for the pots. I like the plants to stand out...not the pots.
