How do I build planter boxes for a patio wall?

I want to build wooden planter boxes to be drilled into an external wall on my patio.  Any ideas?

You could use L angles to hang them. something like these

What material is your patio wall made out of - brick, stucco, vinyl siding?

They’ll be too heavy to hang.

Are you looking for a “floating” aesthetic? That can be done with a toe kick.

What are you envisioning?

You’ll have to bolt them into the wall or the slab with epoxy. This means buying a masonry drill bit about 1/8” bigger than your bolts, washers & nuts. As well as epoxy.
