My bathroom is directly above my laundry room in the basement. We will be gutting the bathroom in August and I would like to install a laundry chute between the studs. I will start to do the research on the codes in Maryland but was looking for some designs that hide this feature also.

Thanks,
Tracy

Check you local building codes, I recently found out that many places do not allow laundry chutes to be installed because of possible fire issues.

Hi Tracy. My laundry chute is disguised as a cabinet on both ends. Upstairs it looks like another cabinet for the linen closet, downstairs looks like a cabinet in the laundry room. Simple closure. Good luck!

When we built our California home we put in a laundry chute from M/Bath & one from Guest bath to garage laundry area. The two chutes mingled at some point to form one at the bottome. In the baths they looks like another cabinet door; in the garage laundry area it has a narrow, yet full height, passage door. Works great. California has strict code requirements for laundry chutes. It is all related to fire issues! Check you local codes.
