Have an odd spot in your garden? An eyesore you want to cover on the ground? How about a easy, inexpensive raised bed! Grow food or flowers!
Ugly tree stump, what to do? Build a shady raised bed garden! There are lots of herbs and veggies you can grown, as well as flowers. It's amazing how much you can grow in what you might thinks of as unusable space. Even in mostly shade there are veggies you can grow- https://growagoodlife.com/vegetables-that-grow-in-shade/
We used recycled wood, previously been untreated 2 x 4s from long pallets. Would have gone to the dump :) You could buy nine 10' fir 2 x 4s if you start with new wood with this configuration. Probably about $40.00 depending on your region. 16' or 20' might work better for cost savings.
Laying out the lumber to fit the space.
Hubby Dave laying out the wood, screwing together the boards on the supports. Some re-cutting was involved.
See junk 2 x 4s for braces inside and stump.
We filled with extra garden soil and our own compost. Veggies and herbs planted.
1 years later, very productive!!!
