I just use a scrub brush and hot water. There is truly no need for soap but I do use it occasionally! I hope this helps!

The Secret of How to Clean Cast Iron in Four Easy Steps
Normal cleaning with just water and a brush. Heat on a stove eye or in the oven to make sure it doesn't rust.
If you have any rust, you can scrub it with steel wool and then dry.
If you need to restore, wipe with shortening and bake in an oven on 350 for an hour. Put a drip pan below the skillet to catch any run off.

With baking soda only a little bit of water and simmer if really dirty

I've used mine to scrub off burned on plastic from one of my stainless steel pots
No soap, I use salt. If there is food stuck on good I boil water on the stove in the pan to loosen it.

No soap! Normally I use a cloth to remove grease, etc. and then reheat is on the stove to dry it quickly. I have used salt to help with tough areas.
