How to cut through a build up of cooking grease splatter?

I am not sure what kind of mess but I have just cleaned my long awaited dirty gas oven with a mix of a box of baking soda, quarter cup of white vinegar, and a couple tablespoons of salt, made a paste, put it on the oven floor and walls and door inside, let it set for about 4 hours or so, then used a scrubby sponge to clean it all of, it came off fairly easy.Helpful Reply -

I always go to my handy dish scraper first. Strip off as much buildup as you can. Then use a heavy grade Dawn dishwashing soap straight from the bottle. Just smear it on with your hand and let it sit about 5 minutes. Use a nylon scrubbie to really get to the bottom of things. Scrape again. Then all you should have to do after that is rinse and wipe until the surface is clean.Helpful Reply -
