Hi Richard,
I found a great article on Angie's list that can answer your question and also give you some tips about what to look for with a duct cleaning company. I hope this helps you.

What makes you think they need cleaning? A tight well system doesn't require it unless there is a reason. Here are a couple of sites for you to study, then decide.

Duct cleaning is a SCAM. Unless there was major remodel it's never needed. Been in the business a long time. Gets the contractor in the door to "find" other things wrong. Contractors brag on how they ripped off consumers with other services once they're in the door. Replace you filter once a month and your good. Get the pleated filters not the cheap blue mesh filters. Trap more dirt and dust. Spend the money on a backsplash, paint, remodel.
Another great scam are the fliers in the mail for servicing your equipment for $19.95 to $49.95. Gets them in the door. They bang, slam, pound around the equipment and tell some outrageous price on what they found.
On this site, I saw the price for a similar service at $ 99
