My toilet bowl is stained brown SO bad, gross!

Question

I have tried CLR,Iron Out and pumice stones but NOTHING worksany suggestions?  I do not have money to replace two bowls!

This sounds like well water or very hard water problem. Iron and sulpher can both contribute to brown/orange stains. Do you have a water softener system?

Hi Beckie, I assume you have tried bleach? Clean with a brush then pour in a good amount of bleach in and let it sit overnight. If this makes a difference you might do it again using an old towel to keep the entire bowl cover with the bleach/water the next time being sure not to flush with the towel in it! Wow, if pumice stone isn't helping it may be time to upgrade. Depending on how old the one you have is, you might be able to get a rebate toward a new more water- conserving model. Check on-line on your city's website or sometimes rebates are offered by the manufacturer on the Internet.

It sounds like hard water stains. I get them too. The only thing that I've found to work is a scouring stick. It's made of pumice and costs about $5. I got mine at Lowes in the cleaning section.
