DIY Bleach Cleaning Solution

Cleaning with a DIY bleach cleaning solution is a great way to disinfect your home after an illness or during a flu outbreak- but you need to make sure you do it the right way to keep everyone safe. Read on to learn how to mix your own bleach cleaner for cleaning surfaces, kill the flu virus and sanitize your house.
READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS SAFELY.
Bleach is cheap, effective and readily available for sanitizing your home.
Watch the video and then follow the steps below to learn how to make the DIY bleach cleaner.
- Large bucket
- A quart-sized plastic spray bottle
- A measuring cup
- Damp cloth
- Household rubber gloves
- Household bleach
- Water
- safety goggles
- rags
Use a sharpie marker to label the spray bottle with the word "Bleach" so that anyone who sees it knows 100% what is inside.
Here are the ratios for mixing the bleach and water to make a 1:10 solution.
For a large amount to clean floors etc mix 1 gallon or water with 1 and 1/2 cups of bleach.
For a smaller amount mix 4 cups of water with 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons of bleach.
This will be strong enough to kill viruses, bacteria and fungus.
DO NOT MIX ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES WATER AND BLEACH, ESPECIALLY VINEGAR OR ACIDS AS IT WILL CREATE CHLORINE GAS WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS
Use a funner to pour into a spray bottle, screw the nozzle back on and it is ready to use.
Spray bleach solution on surfaces and wait 10 minutes. This is how long it takes to kill viruses and bacteria. After 10 minutes wipe clean with a rag, water and plain soap.
This solution will last 24 hours before it starts to break down and lose effectiveness. Make a fresh batch every time you clean.
A jug of bleach from the supermarket will last 1 year.
Don't use this on marble or natural stone counter tops as it will ruin the finish.
