I hate the fade a homemade detergent does to my clothes is such a short time!
I have combined Oxy and store bought detergent and it seems better. Is there a better recipe out there, other than baking soda, boraz, barsoap of liking??

What exactly does this homemade detergent do to your clothes?

I make a detergent for my daughter that she loves. I found the recipe on Pinterest and this is what I use: Grated ivory soap, washing soda, borax,
oxyclean, and Downy Unstopables. Check out Pinterest for exact quantities.

  • What recipe are you using for your homemade detergent? Something does not seem right, clothes should not fade. ????

Arm&Hammer washing powder is not the same as baking soda . That's what I use and I have no fading in my clothes , on the contrary , we've noticed less since I started making my own . I get it at the Dollar General Store .

      P. S. My recipe is one cup each of borax , washing powder, and oxygen cleaner (I get the generic one at the Dollar General too) and a grated bar of soap.
