There is a piece of carpet that gets stepped on coming in from the garage to the kitchen that takes the brunt of our dirty shoes. Have tried OxyClean but still can't get it clean. Any suggestions?

been around since hardwood floors were all u could afford. My advice, rope up that stinky, allergy riden and “ go back “ in time and save for new wood floors. So easy to care for and so beautiful.

Put a clean tarp down on your drive. Take the carpet out side hit it with a hose. Soak it. Then use a solution normally one that comes with a rental machine, or a myo/ diy Carpet shampoo. Soak the carpet as directed by instructions, you may need to put the solution in a spray bottle. Rinse well. Flip carpet over and rinse again. Let it dry. When you think it’s dry, flip it over.let It dry some more. in 1993 my home town flooded out. These were in the instructions of how to salvage carpet.

You might consider removing a semi-circle of carpet right there.. and replacing it with one of the new waterproof laminates, wide plank wood look vinyl, or with tile.
