    rub on mayonnaise or cover with a cloth and heat with iron. ( apply check it, apply check it) careful not to burn

    Mayonnaise and cigar ash , I know icky but it works .

    I agree with Brandy! White toothpaste (not gel) and a damp cloth. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth. Gently rub in a circular motion. Wipe off and buff with some polish..

    Go on .... thrifty fun.com .... you will read a good number of people are raving about using a medium-hot iron and white t-shirt then rubbing well - going WITH the grain of the wood. I'm going to try this myself tomorrow on my own table. I have tried mayonnaise with no luck and have known of the medium-hot iron trick for many, many years but just hadn't tried it. Tomorrow is the day!
