Create a solution of 1 part mild detergent and 1 part distilled water. Mix them with your hands, creating a soft foam. Dip a soft, lint-free cloth in the foam and lightly run it across the exterior of the couch. Do not rub the leather. Dampen slightly a soft, lint-free cloth with distilled water. Wipe the surface of the couch with this cloth, lightly running it over the surface. Do not rub the leather. Blot the leather dry with a soft, lint-free cloth, soaking up all the moisture from the couch.

I use coconut oil to clean our leather sofas. Rub on with a clean cloth in circular motions . Rub off with a clean cloth .

When I first saw your question, being the Mom of three boys and three grandsons, my first thought was, 'throw them in the tub". lol But, I use a cleaning product by Guardsman, can usually find it at box stores or Amazon.
