Pour about ½ teaspoon clear dish soap in a small bucket; run warm water into the bucket to create lots of suds. Dip a soft upholstery brush in the suds only—do not submerge—and sweep the fabric in small sections, with a light touch.

Not all fabrics can have a water based detergent. My furniture came with a warning about using water. I have to use a dry cleaning foam with a brush. I think the " suds only" with clear dish soap is a good idea.

Product out there called Norwex. It's a microfiber cleaning cloth specifically for furniture. I bought it on EBay but am sure you can find it on other sites. It does work!

Disregard the link to giggleboxblog. Appears that it no longer is in use. Sorry!
