Help! My son left a wash rag on his sink and it was brown.

Question

I bought a new wash basin and cabinet for my son's bathroom. I did not want to get anything expensive, as he is quite careless. I came into the bathroom and discovered he had left a brown wash rag on the top that he had wet while washing his face! When I picked up the wash rag to put into the laundry, I noticed it had left a stain on the top! I was horrified. I have tried everything to no avail, so any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated. I hate to think of buying a new top for the vanity.

Try sprinkling a generous amount of Oxyclean on the dampened surface, cover with a damp rag and let it soak.

Get some bleach gel. I tend to find it in the toilet bowl cleaner. Put it on the stain and leave it for at least an hour. Wipe off and rinse with water.

I will try all of these suggestions. This is a new cabinet, and I would never have believed a brown washrag could have done this! Especially was the washrag was not new.
