How can I get dog odor out of my indoor/outdoor rugs?

Even after I vacuum thoroughly the odor remains.

Rent or buy a steam cleaner, vacuuming alone will not remove the odors. -

Baking soda! Sprinkle it on thick, let it sit for at least a couple hours, then vacuum up. -

Hi Marcia. Try putting baking soda on the rugs. Let is sit for about 15 minutes and then vacuum up. -

You might try shampooing with an odor removing shampoo. I think they make one especially for doggy odors. -

Use Vinegar & water in a spray bottle let soak into the fibers, it may take a few times of doing this. -

Another way is to take some baking soda place in an air tight container add a couple drops of an essential oil (my favorite is lavender) shake up & let sit in closed container over night sprinkle on your rugs a half hour before you vacuum, then vacuum up
